Saint James Community Alliance
“The Alliance is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Further, the Alliance is organized to engage in any lawful act or activity for which corporations may be organized under Chapter 55A of the North Carolina General Statutes, and may exercise all lawful powers, including (but not limited to) all powers necessary and appropriate to carry out the following objectives and purposes.
- To provide healthful living and health
enhancement programs for children, families and area residents, and engage in
economic development and other charitable activities to combat community
deterioration and blight. Having the ability to create a Community Development
- To provide enrichment and after school mentoring
and tutoring programs for school age students to help close the achievement
gap, and academic and financial assistance to students seeking entrance to
higher education or post-secondary school.
- To collaborate with community organizations and
agencies to provide outreach and specialized intervention programs including
(but not limited to) family resources, crime prevention, childcare, senior day
care, computer technology and GED.
